When things don’t look promising, faith clings to the Promiser.

When things seem overwhelming, faith calls out to the Overcomer.

When life cripples us, faith looks to the Healer.

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:39‬ ‭NIV, emphasis mine)

The essence of faith isn’t what we see, but rather what we haven’t yet seen (see Hebrews 11:1). Faith moves forward — even if it is in slow and almost undetectable ways — because even if we don’t see the promise now, we know that we will see the promise.

Every step — the big ones and the small ones — moves us closer to what we’ve hoped for.

When circumstances tempt us to stop short, faith moves forward because there is One who is calling us, and “the one who calls us is faithful, and He will do it.” (‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭NIV, emphasis mine)
