Today, I sit in front of the screen with nothing to say and yet with a commitment to write.
It is day 236, and I am nearly two-thirds of the way to completing my personal “write and post something every day in 2021” goal.
And while writing to tell you that I have nothing to write technically meets that goal, it isn’t satisfying. For me or you. And yet, at what I hope to be the tail end of a very difficult season, here I am with no words. After almost 71,000 words this year, today I feel like I can’t even string together a few.
So let me offer some of the Lord’s words; words that are far greater than mine. Words that comfort me, and I pray, comfort you, too.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3 NIV)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV)
“All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.” (John 16:1 NIV)
Jesus is with us, friend.
