There is a battle raging right now, and it is fierce. The enemy wants to intimidate God’s people because he knows that intimidation leads to compromise.

But we won’t back down or be bullied into surrender. To quote that great theological masterpiece, Dirty Dancing, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”

So, we fight, but not in our strength. We overcome, but not through our strategies.

Then in the midst of the assembly the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite of the sons of Asaph; and he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat: This is what the Lord says to you: Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s”. (2 Chronicles‬ ‭20:14-15‬ ‭NASB, emphasis mine)

This isn’t our fight, even though we’re caught up in it. The enemy is still stinging from his defeat at the cross, and we’re in his crosshairs. But not only is the battle the Lord’s, so is the victory.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But the victory belongs to the Lord. (Proverbs‬ ‭21:31‬ ‭NASB, emphasis mine)

We’re in it to win it because the One we’re in it with has already won. Take courage, friend! We win!
